Dr. Sarah Heslip, L.Ac, DACM

Dr. Heslip (she/her/hers) is a New York State Licensed and Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist.  She holds a Masters of Science and Doctorate of Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Sciences.  

While attending Pacific College of Health and Sciences, Dr. Heslip was mentored by medical experts from China, Taiwan, Europe and the Americas. She is skilled and experienced in all primary modalities of the field: acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal formulas, cupping, and gua sha.

Before relocating to the Hudson Valley, Dr. Heslip co-founded Akos Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine, a private practice in Midtown Manhattan. She continues to practice at Akos where she has helped many patients realize their dreams of becoming parents.  Dr. Heslip treats world class athletes and a variety of professionals in the performing arts.

Dr. Heslip's approach is comprehensive and incorporates Western Medical practices as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is an ardent proponent of whole body medicine, and employs Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutritional Guidance, Lifestyle Education, and Bodywork in her practice.   Dr. Heslip has treated a wide array of conditions including stress and anxiety, chronic pain, gastrointestinal disorders, women’s health, fertility, autoimmune diseases, and psycho-emotional disorders. 

Every treatment is uniquely tailored to the individual patient and their specific needs and lifestyles. Dr. Heslip augments her treatments by educating her patients about the skills and behaviors they will require to ensure their physical and mental well-being can be self sustained. Dr. Heslip's years of experience have taught her the value of hands-on care, compassion, and collaborating with patients.

Prior to studying Chinese Medicine, Dr. Heslip received a B.A. from Bard college with a focus in Art History.  

She grew up in the Berkshire hills and now lives in Kingston with her family.
